UCAA-UG is a membership organisation with an organisational structure that comprises the General Assembly, Board of Directors, and the Secretariat. While the General Assembly is the supreme governing body of UCAA-UG, the Board of Directors provides strategic direction to the organisation while the Secretariat is the implementing arm.
UCAA-UG holds Annual General Meetings (AGM) for its membership to reflect, adopt and approve new strategic plans, annual reports and the financial reports. UCAA-UG also convenes general assemblies every three years to elect new members to the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors meets four times a year to appraise staff, discuss and approve activity reports, budgets and program work plans.
The UCAA-UG secretariat and its operational units:
UCAA-UG’s secretariat is headed by the National Coordinator. UCAA-UG’s Strategic Plan is implemented under programs by the Secretariat. Each program is run by professional staff teams.
The program heads report to the National Coordinator who is supported by a Programs Manager. The program teams are supported by a Finance and Administration team, as well as interns and volunteers.
The Universal Coalition of Affirming Africans Uganda (UCAA_UG) is an independent and non-partisan, human rights organization which seeks to advocate for the respect of human rights of the most marginalised with specific focus on LGBTQ+ people, Women and Persons Living With Disabilities in Uganda using a faith-based approach. The organization is duly incorporated under the Companies Act, Cap 110 as a body corporate.
